THIS GAME IS DESIGNED TO BE RUNNED ON A TS-CONF OR SPRINTER COMPUTER. THERE IS NO VERSION FOR THE CLASSIC ZX SPECTRUM OR ZX SPECTRUM NEXT YET, BUT YOU CAN WRITE TO THE AUTHOR (IN THE REVIEWS OF THE GAME) THAT YOU NEED SUCH A VERSION.
About the Game
This is a fan-made fighting game based on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The game engine was written from scratch and has its own unique features.
The character graphics are inspired by the TMNT game on the SNES, while the rest of the graphics were drawn from scratch or redrawn based on images found online.
The game is designed to play with a friend or practice battles with a computer opponent. You must determine the rules of the championship yourself and arrange a real drawing of the golden cup of the turtle – the winner!
You have four different game characters to choose from (Leo, Don, Mike, Raph), each of them has their own features and super blows. Which of them will become your favorite and allow you to win against all your friends?
Controls
The controls are designed for a 6-button joystick, with support for Sega and 8bit-do standards.
Sprinter Version: The first Sega joystick connects to the standard Kempston port, the second connects via the LPT port, and power can be drawn from a USB port.
TS-Conf Version: This version only supports a 3-button joystick. In the settings, you must select the “joystick” control type. Then, the A(LP) and B(LK) buttons will function as X(HP) and Y(HK) when pressed while holding the ‘Back’ direction.
The first joystick functions as an 8bit-kempston: A(LP), B(LK), C(Block).
The mapping for the second joystick must be configured to the keyboard using the `avrconf.spg` utility (or you can remap the buttons in-game to match your setup).
Keyboard controls are also supported, but for a smooth experience, a keyboard with anti-ghosting / n-key rollover (NKRO) is required.
In the Sprinter version, you can press ‘X’ on the keyboard in the main menu to hide the settings menu items. When this is active, the game can only be unpaused by pressing ‘Enter’ on the keyboard (to prevent accidental exits).
General Gameplay
- Characters have close-range and long-range attacks. Close attacks deal more damage, while long-range attacks have a longer recovery time. Your moveset also changes slightly when you are up close to your opponent.
- The duration of jumping attacks is limited, so time your strikes carefully to avoid missing.
- Throws are performed up close by pressing Back + X(HP) or Y(HK).
- Back, Back – Performs a backflip, during which you are invincible.
- While jumping: Down + Punch (A(LP) or X(HP)) – Performs an anti-air attack.
- You can block attacks by holding Back or by pressing the Block button (not all attacks can be blocked—for example, sweeps and throws are unblockable).
- During the game, pressing START on the joystick or ESC on the keyboard will pause the game and display a list of special moves. From the pause screen, you can exit to the main menu by pressing X on the joystick or ENTER on the keyboard.
